Meet our fantastic team of Vets, Nurses, Receptionists and Support Staff.
Rob McNulty – Owner and Vet
Rob started Hoylake Vets back in 2003, with Della and since then the practice has grown to what it is today. He has a certificate in veterinary anaesthesiology and a keen interest in nutritional bone disease.
In his spare time (when he gets some) he likes snow-boarding, running, climbing, surfing (badly) and karate.
He has an extensive collection of horrific ties that is only exceeded by his collection of horrific jokes.
Tonks is a very slim Rottweiler belonging to Rob and Della, she likes walks and sitting in peoples laps. Her least favourite things are loud noises and water, she also likes people who will give her constant affection.
Della McNulty – Practice Partner
Della McNulty is the a practice partner, as well as Rob’s wife. She is a former teacher, with a B.Ed and is in charge of the business side of the practice. She is also an NLP practitioner.
Hi, My name is Della and I am the practice manager and the co-owner of Hoylake vets.
I have many qualifications such as a BEd, GPcertVPMA, I am a master practitioner in NLP, timeline therapy and hypnosis. I am currently working towards my masters which is in palaeoanthropology.
I like hiking in the mountains especially in Chamonix Mont Blanc. I love reading and singing in the rock choir. Another love of mine is music and tattoos.
Being married to a vet, I own a small zoo of animals.
I have Tonks, my 10 year old Rottweiler. Nancy, the 8 year old chocolate Labrador. We also have a rescue American bulldog called Luna. We have also got 4 cats from Heswall animal welfare; we have fluffy, the Siamese tabby cross and we also have three sibling kittens. They are called Azriel, Bonta Kun and Cinnamon. They are all 3 years old.
And last but not least we have 2 Terrapins; Big Al who is 22 years old and Terrance who is 16. They are both red eared sliders.
The terrapins love to chase the dogs around the kitchen or the garden, our previous dog Elvis used to be terrified.
Tonks is so friendly and cuddly that no one believes she is a Rottweiler. I just tell everyone that all rotties can be like that and that most actually are. Tonks had a cruciate repaired back in 2015 and needs Metacam which is an NSAID to help her with her movement when the weather outside is cold.
Luna is a lunatic, totally bonkers and loves to get under the covers with my youngest son Kyle.
Nancy is a typical lab and will just eat anything.
All of the other animals are very healthy, if not very lazy.

Hi, I’m Jan but people here call me “Woody”.
I’ve worked on the reception for two and a half years after a career with the Merseyside police and HSBC Bank prior to that.
I love watching sport now rather than playing it, especially rugby and athletics. Many moons ago now I played hockey at county level, but now just prefer long walks with my dog Buster, preferably with a pub at the end.
Buster is a Jack Russell who is now 11 years old. I adopted him at 6 months from a rescue centre.
He is a wonderful little character, but knows his own mind and always has the last word!!! His best tricks are sitting for hours like a Meerkat on his haunches and giving kisses.
Nicky Lang – Client Care Assistant
My name is Nicola Lang, but everyone here calls me Nicky otherwise it sounds like I’m being told off. I’m 42 years old.
I studied “British sign language” at college. Before here I worked for Asda for 14 years. I also worked for another veterinary practice many moons ago.
I love cars, horses and cats.
I have two guinea pigs that are 2 and a half years old and they are called Fudge and Fizz.
While Fizz can be called over, Fudge has to be chased around the run for 10 minutes to be able to catch him.
I also have a tropical tank with green and cherry barbs in as well as two bristle nosed plecos.
