We are pleased to introduce you to Luna, the latest addition to the McNulty Family. She is an American Bulldog crossed with a Dalmation (We think)and she is 14 weeks old. She came to us from the Council Kennels last week after she was handed over to them as a stray with a limp. After an xray it was found that she had a fractured femur that is about 6 weeks old so we thought we would document the process that she is going through to have her repaired and her recouperation following the op.

Today is the first day of Luna’s diary and she is currently over at Rutland House Referral Surgery over in St Helens. We saw Ian Barcley one of their orthopaedic surgeons who is in charge of her case. Today she will be having an operation to Re break the healing bone neatly and then use plates and a pin to streighten the bone into its proper position. Della and Connor were very sad to leave her there but they know its for the best. Since she is only 14 weeks if she gets it fixed now she will have many years with four good legs.
We will be posting regular updates on facebook and here on our website, but if you want to get the latest Luna news first then follow us on twitter @HoylakeVets.
