“My name is Helen Nicholls but I picked up the nickname Ellie from school and this has stuck ever since, so I prefer to be called Ellie.
I am thirty two years old and I am a registered, qualified veterinary nurse, as well as the head nurse at Hoylake Veterinary surgery.
I have been working in veterinary practice since leaving school.
I have been a qualified nurse since 2003 and worked as an orthopaedic referral nurse at a local referral practice before starting at Hoylake.”
Ellie has two dogs, Nutmeg and Minnie. Minnie is a 7 year old Dalmatian. She has been deaf since birth, so they communicate with her via sign language. She also suffers from urate crystals in her urine which is a very common problem in dalmatians. Nutmeg is a chocolate Labrador who is 8 but still thinks she is 2! She also travels everywhere with her deflated football.
Annie is Ellie’s blue tortie and white Maine coon who is 6 years old.
Ellie also has a 21 year old horse called Sinbad who has recently been diagnosed with cushings disease and will require treatment for it.
